NETCOM 9S38, is a radio transceiver intended for data communication through RS-232 serial port.
All serial asynchronous parameters are programmable. Data transmission rates go from 1200 up to 38400 bps. However rf transmission rate is fixed at 40000 bps. The 9S38 does not require handshaking signals and has an internal 512 byte buffer.
The transceiver is designed to work in both Point to Point and Multi Point (Network) modes.
Operation frequencies are in the 902 - 928 MHz band to comply US FCC 15247 standard.
Spread Spectrum transmission is accomplished by means of a Frequency Hopping synthesizer and a FSK modulator.
Other features are compact size and DIN rail mounting.
Receiver operation is based on a Super Beat type oscillator and heterodyning.
Nominal output power is 500 mW. Power density is distributed through the entire transmission band.
Frequency synthesis makes possible up to 50 channels, separated by 150 Khz.
Block Diagram Applications
  • Telemetry and SCADA
  • Data transmission from mobile stations.
  • Wireless LAN: Remote client and terminal connection.
  • Connection of sites that have dangerous potential difference and require electric isolation.
